The Reserved Alternative Investment Funds (RAIF) enter the scene …

On 14 July 2016, the Luxembourg Parliament approved the bill of law n°6929 introducing a new type of Luxembourg investment fund: the Reserved Alternative Investment Fund (RAIF).

The latest arrival in the Luxembourg Funds family combines the advantages of an AIFs with those of a non-regulated fund, as it benefits from the EU distribution passport and can be launched very quickly as no agreement from the CSSF (the Luxembourg supervisory Authority) will be required.

Its main characteristics can be summarised as follows:
          - Managed by an authorised AIFM
          - No supervision from the CSSF
          - Access to the AIFM distribution passport for institutional investors
          - Fiscal regime similar to other Luxembourg AIFs (SIF, Part II, SICAR)

EFA will supports its clients and ensure the service level required for business opportunities arising from this new investment vehicle, whatever the fund's investment strategy.
